Brigh Egan Makeup

Project Outline

Brigh Egan is a luxury makeup artist, based in Galway City. Brigh specialises in luxury bridal makeup. When we got in contact with Brigh, we immediately knew that this was going to be an interesting and exciting project.

Brigh was super specific with how she wanted her site to look. She wanted her site to be a mix of minimalist design and contrasting colour, while also getting into detail about her services. We needed to make everything pop on the page.

We came up with a 4 week plan in which we would provide regular updates to Brigh to review and then use this feedback to improve, until we had the final product ready to go live.

Theme, font and colour scheme

As we mentioned, Brigh wanted her site to be minimalist yet descriptive on her work and what is involved as a luxury makeup artist. We went with a narrow and spacious layout, to make the page feel larger and give the user room to navigate.

On the theme, we decided that we needed to highlight the main work that Brigh does; Bridal Makeup. So, we used a Wedding Theme, with soft, flowing sections.

For colours, we needed to keep it minimalist and true to the theme. So, what better than black and white. It is perfect wedding vibes and also contrasts well and makes the page very easy to read.

For the fonts, we used very elegant, 'Gilda display' in the headers, and for the content we used a stubby 'Gilda Regular'. We made sure that there is a large difference in the sizes so that the headers, to give the impression of grandeur.

Website key Feature: Gallery

The key feature of our website for Brigh Egan was the dynamic gallery.

Being a luxury makeup artist, her profession is all about aesthetics. No matter how good looking we made her website, it would never compete with what her imagery can do.

Brigh provided us with her best high quality images of her brides she has worked on. We decided that, with such an easy-to-use website, we needed to match this with the gallery.

We built a dynamic gallery which allows the user to effortlessly drag left & right through a 3D, infinite scrolling Image carousel.
The carousel automatically rolls over itself also without user input.

This was a huge feature to the website, allowing Brighs work to speak for itself and give future Brides something to expect when they hire Brigh.
